Graham Taylor - He keeps promising to write up the England files and it would still be a brilliant read. He is a charming man, but his spell in charge of the national team was turbulent and ultimately ended in failure to qualify for USA 94. It is time to hear about it in his words.
Tough: Taylor's turbulent time as England boss has been documented, but a book would tell all in depth

Keith Hackett - We are treated to a blow-by-blow account of any tunnel bust-up these days, but what was it like before the all-seeing eye of Sky TV took us into previously uncharted territory?
I interviewed Keith shortly after he hung up his whistle and it was fascinating to hear his frank, no-holds-barred account of players and managers he encountered in a distinguished career as one of our top referees.
The boss who lost it most after a game, for instance, was Liverpool’s normally mild-mannered Roy Evans, following a fiery encounter with Manchester United at Old Trafford. ‘He was waiting for me in the tunnel, and his eyes were blazing,’ Hackett recalled. These are names that are still fresh in the mind and it would be a riveting read.
Dealing with it: Hackett had a fantastic career as one of England's top referees

Arsene Wenger – The Arsenal boss keeps saying he’s still too young to write an autobiography but he’s 64 now and, quite frankly, I think it’s time he got a move on. If the right ghost writer could steer Wenger away from economics and French third division matches and on to the personalities and pressures of his time at Arsenal it would be a fascinating read.
Gerard Brand
Arsene Wenger - Now we know what Fergie thinks, what about the Premier League's current longest-serving manager? The Frenchman often reserves his deepest thoughts for a referee, so to delve deeper into the mind of a managerial mastermind, who has put up with his fair share of adversity in recent years but always recovered, would be fascinating.
What was Patrick Vieira like to work with? What is Arsenal's future without him? And what about the fractious relationships with Fergie himself? One thing is for sure, the book would sell.
Comeback: Wenger is currently the longest-serving manager in the Premier League, and by some way

Roman Abramovich - Hitherto taciturn Chelsea owner opens his heart on the fall of the Soviet Union, the rise of the oligarchs and how he pioneered a revolution in Premier League football.
What a fascinating geo-political insight into a new world order and the motives of football’s latest breed of billionaire owners. Why did he really buy Chelsea? Was it worth it? What next? And does he actually have feelings? I’m not holding my breath.
Money man: Chelsea's fortunes transformed after the arrival of the Russian, so what's his view?

On paper: Balotelli was seen as a trouble maker by some, but what's his take on his behaviour?

Mario Balotelli – ‘Why Always Me?’ If even half the things they say about Mario are true, it would be one hell of a read. He could have the launch party on Bonfire Night with another fireworks display in his bathroom.
Alex Horlock
Mario Balotelli - I’m a big fan of people writing books at the end of their careers. Usually I think it’s nonsense for someone to publish an autobiography (almost always titled My Story) in their early 20s, but in Mario’s case I think it would be a belter.
He’s portrayed as one of football’s great characters. Did he really give a homeless man £1,000 outside a Manchester casino, what does he think about Noel Gallagher dedicating a song to him and why didn’t he ever celebrate when he scored at City? Oh, and what REALLY happened with the fireworks in the bathroom? Over to you, Mario.

Andre Villas-Boas - How I turned Tottenham from European nearly men to Champions League winners and forced Roman Abramovich into a grovelling apology for caving in to player power and sacking me prematurely when I was implementing his policies. To be published in June 2016

Jose Mourinho - Title: Special Me. Can it be as good as Zlatan’s? Bruising, controversial, nothing held back (certainly not run past the club first).
I want to read about his psychological approach to management. When he told a naked Frank Lampard in the shower: ‘You are the best midfielder in the world’...
Joe Strange
Jose Mourinho - It’s got to be Jose, hasn’t it? From his early years working as an interpreter for Bobby Robson at Barcelona and Champions League success with Porto, to taking the Premier League by storm with Chelsea and being poached from Inter Milan by Real Madrid.
He’s had an amazing career already and will no doubt have plenty of stories and strong opinions to fill a few hundred pages. His relationship with Roman Abramovich, the battles with Pep Guardiola and what he really thinks of the household names that have played under him over the last decade.
If Mourinho does ever pen an autobiography, you just know it’ll be a special one.
Get in: The rise and rise of Jose Mourinho would be a fantastic read for a fan of any club

Matt Lawton
Someone like Adrian Bevington, the long serving director of communications at The FA and now managing director of Club England. Not a sexy name but oh the stories I’m sure he could tell.
Know it all: Bevington (centre) with then England manager Sven Goran Eriksson (left) and Matt Lawton himself

Roy Hodgson - If ever there was an England manager whose background hasn't been sufficiently explored it was him. How, in his words, did Roy Hodgson become the man he is today? Most top managers' philosophies are shaped by the experiences had throughout their careers, so what did Hodgson take from working in non-League football, then throughout the globe – he is particularly respected in Sweden and Italy – before his return to England?
How close was he to getting the England job on those other occasions he was linked? What made his time at Liverpool so difficult, and what was it like being in charge of Switzerland, Udinese and Inter Milan? His real thoughts on Harry Redknapp's criticisms – Hodgson would surely like to think he is far more qualified than just being 'an FA man' – would also be fascinating. Plus I hear he’s quite the comedian.
